:: Brassy Reunion ::
: 12.28.03 :

Well, I finally did it, a Brassy's reunion, after all these years! And what a blast it was! It's amazing, people still remember what went on in Cocoa Beach all those years ago. There were old skool'ers all over the place, faces I hadn't seen since the club closed in 1992. I need to thank you all for showing up.

A bit of history for those who don't know, Brassy's is the club that gave me my start. I had a couple residencies before I started working there in 1988, but this one ended up being the job that got my name out there and pointed my in a musical direction that I still follow today. I was given Friday nights, from 9 pm to 5 am, every week, to do what ever I wanted.

This reunion was held at Thee Grotto here in Orlando where I do my bi-monthly old skool night. This particular night seemed fitting to call a Brassy's reunion because my buddies Paul & Paige are getting married on New Years Eve (they were Brassy's regulars). So I figured that if I threw them a party, the rest would come, and they did.

So now I present the recordings I made that night, rough and raw, straight off the mixing board, skipping records and all (unfortunately the microphone didn't come thru on the recording but if you listen closely you can hear the crowd!!). If you were there, have fun remembering. If you weren't, close your eyes and let's go on a ride thru some of the most influential music I've ever heard.

Enjoy!

Andy :)
